Safety is a top priority at Silgan Specialty Packaging. As the company continues to stay on the cutting edge of the industry and as manufacturing technology heads in dramatically new directions, Silgan Specialty Packaging recognizes that day-to-day safety practices are more important than ever.
On June 1st, Silgan Specialty Packaging’s Safety Team launched a 4-week initiative to emphasize the importance of safety in the workplace, especially in a manufacturing setting. The program will engage all employees through various educational materials and activities, which will center around weekly safety themes.
To kick off National Safety Month, Operations Leader Gary Bartow sent this memo to all Silgan Specialty Packaging employees:
“At Silgan Specialty Packaging, our goal is for every employee to be guaranteed the chance to work in an environment that is inspiring, challenging, and empowering. We also believe in promising our customers world-class products and unbeatable service. However, excellence in these important areas could never be achieved without first ensuring a safe work environment for our company’s greatest asset: our team members.
We are proud to acknowledge the safety improvements that have already been achieved on the production floor in months and years past. To accomplish the goal of an increasingly safe Silgan Specialty Packaging, however, we always look to keep growing and getting better. Since June is National Safety Month, it’s a perfect opportunity to raise awareness for safety issues that we encounter every day.”
